• The NEA and the City of Los AngelesDepartment of Cultural Affairs to Announce Artists and Authors for Guadalajara International Book Fair
  The National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) announced today the roster of literary, performing, visual, design, and culinary artists selected to represent Los Angeles and the United States at the 2009 Guadalajara International Book Fair (Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara or FIL Guadalajara).
• NEA Announces More Than $3.7 Million in Grants for the Big Read
  The NEA has announced that 269 nonprofits, including arts, culture, and science organizations, libraries, and municipalities will receive grants totaling $3,742,765 to host Big Read celebrations between September 2009 and June 2010. The Big Read brings communities together to read, discuss, and celebrate one of 30 selections from U.S. and world literature.
• National Endowment for the Arts Announces Highlights From 2008 Survey of Public Participation in the Arts
  Arts Participation 2008: Highlights from a National Survey features top findings from the 2008 Survey of Public Participation in the Arts, the nation's largest and most representative periodic study of adult participation in arts events and activities, conducted by the NEA in partnership with the U.S. Census Bureau. Five times since 1982, the survey has asked U.S. adults 18 and older about their patterns of arts participation over a 12-month period. The 2008 survey reveals dwindling audiences for many art forms, but it also captures new data on Internet use and other forms of arts participation.
